Last night Britney Spears kicked off her Femme Fatale Tour in Sacramento, California.
This crowd was certainly composed of women in their twenties who were huge Britney fans back in the day and any poor husbands or boyfriends they managed to con into tagging along.
Britney herself was excited for the show to debut and tweeted, "It's Opening Night BITCH!!!!...... -Britney" So glad she stated her name or nobody would have figured out who it was. Here's a little glimpse at the show itself....
Oops She Did It Again....do we really need to be seeing Britney vertically assault more poles? I enjoy a lot of Britney's songs even to this day, but I don't really want to see a 29 year old woman thrusting, spreading, and bending every which way.
Spears played a 22 song set ranging from some old classics such as Toxic to her new smash hit Till the World Ends. The performance was well received by the media for the most part, and Carla Meyer from the Sacramento Bee said "The sellout crowd -- composed mainly of young women who were kids when Spears was a teen star -- thrilled from the start to Spears' stellar pop songs." Britney herself seems to pumped and ready for the next show and even tweeted after the concert, "Can't sleep. WAY too much Adrenaline right now. Sacramento was on fire tonight. You ready San Jose? Cause I am!!!!" Well let's just hope her tour isn't as "toxic" as this brief clip appeared.
Lady Gaga is notorious for her eccentric music videos which always include extensive plots, extravagant costumes, and out of this world choreography.
She's this generation's Michael Jackson. Fans were on the edge of their seats, highly anticipating what incredible extravaganza Gaga had in for her little monsters with her Edge of Glory video.
But after its premiere last night, fans were left dumbfounded and confused. No story, no costume changes, no back-up dancers? Surely there must be some mistake. And what's up with the old man with the saxophone?
Being a huge Gaga fan myself, I take great pleasure in watching all her kooky, crazy, creative aspects to her music videos. The wig, the skantily clad outfit - all this I can get on board with. What I refuse to accept is the total lack of choreography! She's merely leaning "on the edge" (yes we get the double meaning) of a windowsill or crawling on the streets of New York City. How is that going to be helpful the next time I go dancing at a club? There was nothing eye-catching about the video which leaves you somewhat, dare I say, bored. I will admit, however, that since there wasn't much to look at, I focused on the lyrics more, which were amazing.
Some, on the other hand, are not so forgiving. Gaga's little monsters pulled out their claws and let loose on Twitter, blaming the result on Joseph Kahn, the director of the video. Kahn tweeted in response, "I did NOT direct Lady Gaga's Edge of Glory video. Lady Gaga did -- I don't co-direct. One canvas, one paintbrush. Respect the art. Very simple rule with me." Does this imply trouble on set? An insider claimed that Kahn had a completely different idea for the video which included a hospital scene, the Brooklyn Bridge, and a big underwater mermaid scene, but Gaga changed her mind and that was that.
One has to wonder what was going through Gaga's head while creating this video. Why didn't she listen to the director? I understand the importance of creative vision, but this is what you're paying the guy for. Gaga fans were expecting Gaga and they got Ga-bage. No plot, no spectacles, just Gaga dancing around while singing the lyrics (the lyrics are beautiful). Don't get me wrong, I love this song, but it's certainly not up to the standards that Gaga has set us up for so I can understand why some fans are in an uproar. Next thing you know she'll be wearing clothes without any meat or muppets on them. What is the world coming to?! She's certainly left them on the edge -- of anger. Don't worry Gaga, your little monsters still love you!
Word on the street is that Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green might be renewing their vows in the near future as a way to celebrate their one year anniversary. I find it very sad that it's considered a big deal if a celebrity couple has made it to their 1 year anniversary. Isn't that supposed to be the "honeymoon year" anyways? One year of a celebrity marriage seems to be equivalent to 5 years of a regular marriage. So - going by that standard - celebrity couples should be receiving silver by their 5th wedding anniversary. It's crazy! Many celebrity romances come and go, but every so often one of them sticks and you know they're in it for the long haul. We thought this to be the case with Courteney Cox and David Arquette, but perhaps we've found our new golden couple in Megan and Brian.
